Do you know your customers? Do your customers know you?
What good is it to have the best parade when nobody knew it was on and so nobody showed up?
Communication is a real problem for many small businesses and many do not believe it applies to them. This is the “you do not know what you do not know” syndrome and that becomes the danger.
Why is communication so important.
People are creatures of habit. When we wake up in the morning we are running on virtually 90% habit. Just recall a day when you were interrupted from your daily habitual routine. Your whole day was off.
When it comes to communication, people are also creatures of habit also. Billboards get noticed only when they change.
Your business needs to recolonize that many of your potential customers do not know what you do. You have to tell them in a way that makes a difference and interceded into their daily routines.
Here is a test that you can take
Look at your money and how hard you work for it. When clients are asked what is on the back of every $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 dollar bill, most will not know.
You will remember the colour and denomination but to remember the image on the back takes work and we are lazy and habitual so if we don’t have to remember something we do not.
Think about your customers. How do you expect them to know about your business if all it is that you have is a few ads, a store front or some other marketing medium.
You need to look at your communication.
Marketing Constructs can hear how you communicate to your customers and we can help you do it better.
